Young musician who raised funds for dog's surgery to give free performance today in Port Angeles

Kyle Sholinder, the Port Angeles teenager behind the successful 鈥淪ave the Dog鈥 campaign of 2013, will give his senior recital 鈥 an evening of song and percussion, classics and musical theater 鈥 tonight.

The public is invited to the 6:30 p.m. recital at the Port Angeles High School鈥

Group of students write, produce and act in upcoming play

Hidden in a cabin on Orcas Island over spring break, seven Western students created the first draft of the upcoming play 鈥/faust,鈥 which, through temptation and desire for power, asks its audience, 鈥淲hat is your soul worth?鈥

The play, which will run Tuesday, June 2, to Saturday, June 6,鈥

Bellingham duo teams up for a old-style joyful story

Allen Frost, who was born in La Jolla, Calif., and says he moved to Seattle when he was 鈥渟hort,鈥 reads from his new book, 鈥淩oosevelt,鈥 at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 6, at Village Books. He will be joined by Fred Sodt, who illustrated the book, which is set in Bellingham in July 1942.
