草榴社区 students' work on display at Lucia Douglas Gallery

An opening reception for "(RE) TURNING," drawings and installations by Debbi Kenote and Hannah Cwiek, is from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, at Lucia Douglas Gallery, 1415 13th St. Both students are graduating in Western Washington University's bachelors of fine arts program.

Canadian painter Landon Mackenzie will give a public lecture from 4-5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 21, in Old Main Theater on Western Washington University's campus.

The lecture is free and open to the public.

Amundson and Gour have artistically collaborated for the last 29 years. Their work explores the perceptions and politics surrounding the domestic sphere and identity. They use collage and photo-scanning techniques to speak metaphorically about social construction. Some of their work is literal鈥

Photo Center NW鈥檚 鈥楶rocess鈥 is about more than images

There are plenty of things you can do with light-sensitive, chemically reactive paper besides capturing images on it 鈥 although of course it鈥檚 still well-suited, in plenty of ways, to capturing images, too.

That seems to be the message of 鈥淧rocess,鈥 a lively if鈥
